Senior Microsoft UC Consultant/Architect

Designing, Implementing, and Supporting Microsoft UC solutions consisting with Office Communication Server 2007 R2, Exchange Server Unified Messaging, and Media Gateway(s).  Focus on voice integration, conferencing and remote worker capabilities.  Position will require that a successful engineer be comfortable:

  • Speaking with customers to gathering technical and business requirements. 
  • Acting as a technical team member on Microsoft projects. 
  • Building and executing project plans working closely with customers to understand and manage project expectations.

Design, Vision and Scope, Strategy and Technical Documents

Accountable for a high degree of solution architecture and design responsibilities with technical skills in one or more of the following areas of expertise:

  • Understand customer environment and define business requirements with practice manager
  • Develop architectural/functional design document based on existing or new requirements
  • Connect solutions and technical information to customer’s requirements and environments
  • Design and implement  prototype, or proof of concept, to test solutions
  • Deliver engagements as an individual contributor, technical subject matter expert or as a team member on projects
  • Provide advice (knowledge transfer) to the customer and partners
  • Prepare documentation as required

Technical Skills

Have current and experience with implementation of enterprise infrastructure solutions based on Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007.   Qualifications include hands-on experience with OCS and one or more of the following areas:

  • Exchange 2003, 2007, LMS, LCS, Co-Existence with and Migration
  • Windows 200x Active Directory, Windows Clustering, MIIS, LAN/MAN/WAN Technologies, TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, Ports & Protocols, SAN/Storage and GSP skills, Business Desktop Deployment, RIS, PKI, etc.; Exposure to Multi-forest/Multi-org Exchange scenarios
  • SMS/SCCM, SCOM/MOM
  • Voice gateway configuration with Dialogics, NIC and/or Audiocodes products

Education and Professional Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering  or Equivalent.
  • One or more of the following certifications; MCSE, MCSA, MSDBA, MCSD, MCAD, MSF, MOF or CISSP
  • Highly proficient & customer facing project experience involving technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, development and deployment.
  • Must have a proven record of delivering technical solutions
