Senior Virtualization Consultant/ Architect
SKT is seeking an experienced virtualization consultant. The position is focused on designing, Implementing, and Supporting server, desktop and application virtualization solutions with Microsoft, VMware and/or Citrix solutions. Position will require that a successful engineer than is comfortable:
- Speaking with customers to gather technical and business requirements.
- Acting as a technical team member on virtualization projects.
- Building and executing project plans working closely with customers to understand and manage project expectations.
Design, Vision and Scope, Strategy and Technical Documents
Accountable for a high degree of solution architecture and design responsibilities with deep technical skills in one or more of the following areas of expertise:
- Understand customer environment and define business requirements with practice manager
- Develop architectural/functional design document based on existing or new requirements
- Connect solutions and technical information to customer’s requirements and environments
- Design and implement prototype, or proof of concept, to test solutions
- Deliver engagements as an individual contributor, technical subject matter expert or as a team member on projects
- Provide advice (knowledge transfer) to the customer and partners
- Prepare documentation as required
- Familiarity with project management Methodologies
Technical Skills
hands-on experience with and one or more of the following areas:
- Design of Data Center server/applications Virtualization Expertise with ESX Server, XenServer, Hyper-V and VDI technologies - VMware View/VDI, Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, SoftGrid/App-V
- Storage expertise implementing and/or maintaining a storage infrastructure, (NAS, SAN, fiber Channel, iSCSI) EMC storage experience/certification a plus
- Networking Expertise with a good understanding of IP, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, SSL, PKI, network routing, firewalls and switching
- Microsoft Active Directory/Exchange/SharePoint/System Center experience/certification a plus
Education and Professional Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Equivalent
- VMware, Citrix and/or Microsoft certification are desired
- Highly proficient customer facing project experience involving technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, development and deployment
- Proven record of delivering technical solutions
